Paranjothi (Siruthondar)
Paranjothi is a army general of Pallava king Narashima Varman I. He is one of the most legendary hero in the history of Pallava army. He is the one who lead the Pallava king army to Badami and defeated the force of Pullikesi King of Chalukya. He is also one of the 63 Nayanars(one who workship Lord Siva and compose poems on him). He was from Thiruvarur(Current Tamilnadu). He entered Kanchi the capital city of Pallava's to learn from Tirunavukkarasar. But seeing his bravery and strength he was chosen as the army general to lead the great army.
Paranjothi in his childhood days lost his father and his mother and his uncle took care of him. In the young age he was interested only in the fighting games but his mother who was afraid of his interest in fighting asked him to quit it but he wasn't ready and got struck ed up in fights. So his mother thought if he continues in his fights like this then he will also perish like his(Paranjothi's) father, who was one of the solider in the local king's army. Afraid of this she sent him to pallava capital just to learn from Teacher but latter he came as the army general of entire Pallava city and terrorized the enemies.
He under the command of Narashima Varma lead a battalion of army and defeated the forces of Pullikesi who killed the father of Narashima Varman I and his army fought a fiercive battle near Kanchi and was victorious. From then all his battle led to the ultimate victory. so he and his army men's marched a battalion of army to Badami the capital city of Pullikesi and destroyed him, his fort, army and burned the city to ashes.But after seeing all the sorrows that took place in battle he felt bad and came out from the army and started living a piece full life as Siruthondar.

As Siruthondar he helped the other saints and people who workshiped Lord Shiva. One day he invited a devote and pleased him to come to his home for offering hospitality to him. He also promised him that he would cook foods wanted by him accepting this request devote came to his home. The Devote was god himself (but disguised). The devote asked Siruthondar that he needs a child to eat, Siruthondar on hearing this took his child and cooked him and also the god asked him to eat along with him so he also came to dine up with him but the devote asked his son also to dine,hearing this Siruthondar said he is can't no more hear anything but the devote insisted. so, he came out of his home and called his son. He saw his son coming towards him and suddenly everything including the cooked meat was vanished and the devote revealed his disguise and he was stunned by the appearance of the devote who was the god Shiva himself came to test him. Then blessed him and his family too. so from then on he continued his service of dinning the saints and other workshipers of Shiva.
